Renovations on the Mount
by Oswin Pereira '10
During the summer, while the students and faculty were on vacation, the school's maintenance crew was busy directing renovations. They have made improvements ranging from construction on the property to painting rooms in the school buildings.
One of the major renovations is the new blacktop that has been lain along the Nereid Avenue entrance to the school. On the Murdock Avenue side, stone steps were repaired. In addition, landscaping work was completed, such as the trimming and removal of trees, as well as the dedication of the 'new Veteran's Walk' to the Veterans of America.
In the main building, the main lobby was painted and had new wooden panels installed. Also, the computer lab in room 407 was painted along with the entire fourth floor and the Campus Ministry office. Also, yearly maintenance was completed on the gym floor.
St. Paul's Hall had its stairwell and top floor painted. It also had new shrubs planted along its walk-way.
The Junior High School had its hallway painted and blacktop lain in front of the entrance, where the students play basketball.
Some renovations are still on going such as the remodeling of the Faculty Room with new furniture, carpet, and paint. Another ongoing project is the refurbishment of the Tower.
On the whole, the school's maintenance crew did a lot of work over the summer in order to beautify the school and to provide students with a more memorable experience at the Mount.
