Outback Empire Challenge Football All-Star
Congratulations to senior Jayson Holt who has been invited to participate in the Outback Steakhouse Empire Challenge All-Star Football game on June 24th at Hofstra University. The game pits the Long Island all-stars vs. the New York all-stars and is a fund raiser for the Boomer Esiason Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The Foundation works to heighten education and awareness of cystic fibrosis and to provide a better quality of life for those affected by cystic fibrosis.
CHSFL Senior Bowl Award
Congratulations to Senior Pliney Nivens on being selected as the City Defensive Player of the Game in the annual CHSFL Senior Bowl.
Daily News All-City and All Borough Football Teams Annouced......
Senior QB Jayson Holt was selected as the PLAYER of The Year for Bronx/Manhattan as well as 1st Team All-City.
Junior DT/OT Caraun Reid was selected as first Team Bronx/Manhattan.
Coach Mario Valentini was selected as the Bronx/Manhattan Coach of the Year for the second year in a row.
Post Season honors were bestowed on the following members of the 2007 Varsity Football Team.
Seven members of the Varsity football team were selected as All-League players after completing a very successful year.
Seniors Jayson Holt (second consecutive year) Isiah Moody, and Douglas Watterson were selected on offense while Seniors Pliney Nivens, Juan Torres, Junior Caraun Reid and Sophomore Gary Acquah were selected on defense.
Senior Michael Ahunamba was invited to play, along with the other seniors in the Senior Bowl on December 2nd.
Congratulations to our honorees as well as all members of the team and the coaching staff who made these awards possible.
